1. OVERVIEW

This Tariffs & Import Duties Policy explains how customs fees, VAT, GST, and import taxes apply when ordering from Rosa Lopez / CHROMA REPUBLIC™.

Our store works with multiple fulfillment partners — including Apliiq, and  DSers, — who ship from various locations in the U.S. and internationally.

Because of this, some orders may be subject to import fees depending on your country’s laws.

2. U.S. ORDERS

Most U.S. orders do not incur any duties or import taxes.

Exceptions may apply to:

  • DSers products shipped from overseas warehouses

If customs fees apply, they are the responsibility of the customer.

3. INTERNATIONAL ORDERS (OUTSIDE THE U.S.)

International shipments may incur VAT, GST, customs duties, tariffs, handling fees, or brokerage fees upon delivery.

These charges:

  • Are not included in your order total
  • Are not charged by Rosa Lopez
  • Are not controlled by us
  • Are determined by your country’s customs authorities

Customers are responsible for paying any import fees to receive their shipment.

4. HOW CUSTOMS FEES ARE CALCULATED

Import fees vary by country and depend on:

  • Declared product value
  • Product category
  • Country of origin
  • Local taxes (VAT/GST)
  • Customs processing fees
  • Duties set by customs officials

Since laws differ worldwide, we cannot estimate the exact amount you may be charged.

5. SUPPLIER SHIPPING LOCATIONS & CUSTOMS IMPACT

Different suppliers ship from different regions, which can affect customs fees:

A. Apliiq (CHROMA REPUBLIC™ apparel)

Usually ships within the United States, meaning:

  • No customs fees for U.S. customers
  • International customers may owe VAT or import duties
  • Customs handling fees may apply depending on country

B. DSers (AliExpress suppliers)

Often ship from:

  • U.S. warehouses
  • International warehouses in China or globally

International shipments may incur:

  • VAT
  • GST
  • Import duties
  • Customs brokerage fees

These fees must be paid by the customer before the package is released.

International customers may owe customs fees based on their country’s import laws.

6. CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITY FOR IMPORT FEES

By placing an order, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • Any customs, duties, or VAT charges are your responsibility.
  • We do not refund shipping costs or import fees for returned or refused packages.
  • If you refuse to pay customs fees, your package may be held, returned, or destroyed.
  • No refunds will be issued for orders refused due to import taxes.

7. CUSTOMS DELAYS

Customs offices in your country may delay delivery.

We are not responsible for:

  • Customs processing delays
  • Packages held for inspection
  • Extended delivery times due to customs procedures

Tracking information may update slower when packages pass through customs.

8. INCORRECT ADDRESS OR CUSTOMER REFUSAL

If a package is returned due to:

  • Incorrect address
  • Refusal to pay import duties
  • Failure to pick up from local customs office

The customer is responsible for:

  • Re-shipping fees
  • Customs charges
  • Any losses related to unclaimed packages

Refunds will not be issued in these situations.

9. PRE-PAID DUTIES (DDP) VS. UNPAID DUTIES (DDU)

Our suppliers generally ship using DDU (Delivered Duty Unpaid).

This means:

  • Import taxes are not included in your order
  • Customer must pay any fees when the package arrives
  • Fees vary by country

We currently do not offer DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) shipping.
